The titles given this one away.. You can increase the speed in which you hit your weight loss goals simply by speeding up your metabolism.
Increase your metabolism = Increase weight loss.
Your metabolism is the way in which your body converts calories into energy, if you boost your metabolism you’re effectively improving and speeding up the process of burning calories.. and that’s something we could all do with!
This is done in several simple ways.
Balanced diet, small, frequent portions
A balanced diet with 5-6 small meals throughout the day will work wonders. Malnutrition is not the way to lose weight, all you’re simply doing is putting your body into “starvation mode”. This is where your body never knows where the next meal is coming from, which forces it to retain as much food as possible as fat, it has no idea where the next meal is coming from!
Small, frequent meals allows your bodys metabolism to keep working at a healthy pace, using the calories you provide instead of storing, thus leading to weight loss.
Quick, Intense Cardio
Very few of us enjoy cardio, it can get boring and we feel that we have to do it for an hour everyday! This simple isn’t true when it comes to weight loss.
15-20 minutes of intense cardio a day is all you need! It needs to be intense to allow you to enter an “afterburn” period, where you’re still burning calories hours and hours after your workout!
Push yourself for 3 minutes, rest for 1, push yourself for 3 and rest for 1 again, repeat this for 15-20 minutes and give yourself a pat on the back.. You’re done for the day! Sit back, watch tv, and the calories will still be burning.
Muscles burn more calories than fat… How about that! Put on a few more pounds of muscle instead of those few extra cream cakes, and your body will naturally use more calories!
You’ll tone up, look fantastic, and your body will be doing a lot of the hard work for you, as you’ve already put the hard work in to get the extra muscle!
Ice Cold Water
When you have a drink of water, (which should be regularly throughout the day!) make sure it’s a cold one! You guessed it, our bodies use calories heating up the cold water we put into our system to body temperature.
There you go! A few tips to get you on the right track to increasing your metabolism.. Which im sure you can tell by now, is an important ingredient to losing weight.
